It’s good to save money, but there are a few things for which quality should not be compromised for a lower price.
Paint is one of those items where you get what you pay for; better the quality of paint – higher the cost. Here are some Reasons why superior-quality paint is worth the price:
- Easier application. quality paints have much better leveling and tend to go on more evenly. The brush and roller marks tend to flow out and become unnoticeable and are not as likely to spatter flecks of paint during application.
- Concealing capability. quality paints can usually hide the original wall colour and imperfections in fewer coats, saving time and money from needing to apply extra coats of paint.
- Touch-upcapability. Touch-ups can bedone easily and does not get noticed with high-quality paints.
- Stain resistance. Top-quality paints tend to have better grime and dirt resistance and keep dirt from sinking in, making for easier cleaning.
- Scrub resistance. These paints are tougher and usually can withstand scrubbing without the surface being damaged.
- Imprint resistance.Shelves, windowsills and other face-up surfaces can gather prints when objects are placed on them. However, this problem is significantly reduced with quality paints (especially eggshell finishes).
- Stick resistance. The smooth finish produced with top quality paints allows the paint to be less susceptible to sticking.
- Mildew resistance. Mildew resistent agents are much better in high-quality paints. If you don’t want mildew, don’t compromise on paint quality.
- Fade resistance. To ensure your paint colour stays just as you want it, use a high quality 100% acrylic emulsion paint. These paints maintain their fresh appearance for years.
